Jennifer Reavis

Licensed Professional Counselor

Jennifer is currently accepting clients in the state of Oregon and soon in the state of Illinois as well.

The decision to enter therapy is scary, agreeing to be vulnerable and trying to change can be hard. Nonetheless, I am proud that you are taking this step with me. I am Jennifer (she/her/they), cis-female, neurodivergent and a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Oregon. I work with Oregon clients though I live in Central Illinois and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area.

My desire to become a therapist stems heavily from my firsthand experience with the systems in place, the influence on mental health, identity and access to support can be limited. I acknowledge that my privilege as a white person has allowed me easier access to support than others. I frequently reflect on my role in the systems of power, learning and unlearning with a focus on anti-racism, cultural humility and de-colonizing mental health approaches to ensure inclusivity in my practice.

My approach to therapy is eclectic, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Person Centered and Trauma Informed. Additionally, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I provide individual therapy, adults 19-65 years old, from all walks of life with issues ranging from trauma to depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, attention deficit hyper-activity disorder and others.

You are the authority of your life and I am here to provide an open and non judgmental space for you to process your experiences, and to feel supported and empowered on your journey.
