Andrea is under the clinical supervision of Janay Campbell, LMHC
Andrea is a counselor in training at the University of Rochester Mental Health Counseling Bridge program and holds a Master's in School Counseling from Alfred University. Andrea has over a decade of experience in special education and believes in using a holistic and client-centered approach. Her therapeutic practices include cognitive behavioral and humanistic therapy. Andrea also incorporates themes from her yoga teaching certification including mindfulness, mind-body connection, and self-compassion.
Andrea has experience working with adolescents and young adults of diverse populations, helping them navigate autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships, behavioral issues, and life transitions. She works collaboratively with clients through issues to improve their overall sense of well-being and foster a growth mindset. Andrea values empathy, patience, and unconditional positive regard when working with clients.
As a daughter of an immigrant family, Andrea is studying Spanish with the goal of becoming a bilingual counselor. Andrea is passionate in her work, incorporating cultural humility with the understanding that each client has their own unique experience.
In her spare time, Andrea likes to garden, bake, and create art. She stays active by attending CrossFit and yoga. She feels most at peace when she has a good cup of coffee while tending to her pet chickens and ducks.
