Kathleen Hoffman-Hart, LCSW-R

Kathleen is a licensed clinical social worker and graduated with her Master's Degree in Social Work from The State University of Albany in 1994. Since that time, Kathleen has worked extensively with both inpatient and outpatient clients in a variety of mental health settings.

Seeing the benefits of healing the mind, Kathleen pursued healing the body as well and became a Licensed Massage Therapist from the Center of Natural Wellness in 2002.

For the past 8 years, Kathleen has had a special interest in working with clients who have had a traumatic past because of their childhood, occupation or military experience. In 2016 Kathleen obtained Certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing or EMDR. an evidence-based treatment for trauma.

Since 2018, Kathleen has had the privilege of working with the Headstrong Project, a non-profit agency based out of Weill-Cornell Medical Center. The Headstrong Project provides services to post-9/11 military men and women who have experienced a traumatic event(s) while in the military. The cornerstone of treatment is EMDR. There is no cost for the service member to obtain treatment. For more information visit: www.getheadstrong.org

Kathleen also offers half-day and full-day trauma intensive retreats, online, for a self-pay fee. These retreats allow clients to engage in trauma-related work for consecutive days, which can allow for more effective treatment, saving time in the long-run, as well as saving money. Treatment length will vary based on an intake assessment. Please contact our intake line for more details and to meet with Kathleen for a consultation.

Kathleen belongs to the Trauma Recovery Network (TRN) of NYC that provides cost-free EMDR treatment for first responders in that area that have been impacted by the COVID crisis.

Lastly, Kathleen is also trained in Brainspotting, Phase 1 from the Pacific Counseling and Trauma Center.
