Heather Wajda-Griffin, LCSW
Heather is a Licensed Clinical Social worker located in Albany, NY. She believes that we all have what we need within us to discover new ways of being. She approaches the therapy process through a Person-Centered lens, offering curiosity and support. Heather weaves polyvagal theory and skills from Internal Family Systems into her practice with the purpose of learning how your nervous system responds to everyday stressors, naming and processing overpowering emotions, building body awareness, and creating self-trust.
Heather takes a trauma informed approach to therapy because trauma shapes how we move about in the world, changes how we navigate relationships, and impacts how we feel about and within our bodies. Heather holds awareness that trauma shows up through individual experiences as well as through systemic oppressions such as racism, cis-sexism, and ableism. She acknowledges that they have major impacts on our ability to live our lives in fullness.
Heather enjoys spending time in nature, creating mood playlists, reading tarot, spending time with family and friends, and learning about herbalism.
