Emma Cranston, LMHC

Emma is a licensed mental health counselor based in Albany, NY. She fosters client independence through supportive challenging and a client centered approach, which encourages self efficacy and self determination. In her practice, Emma utilizes solution focused and cognitive behavioral techniques to dismantle unhelpful belief systems and thought patterns in various life areas. She commonly practices client-centered methods of challenging these belief patterns.

Emma is a firm believer in one’s relationship with oneself, down to the way we talk to ourselves. She frequently highlights instances in which we are unkind to ourselves and gently challenges these messages. Emma encourages genuineness during sessions, which she role models often.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures, spending time with her cat Khaleesi (who may occasionally make appearances during session), artistic endeavors, and spending time with friends and family.

  • Emma is not accepting new clients for tele-therapy.

  • When Emma is accepting new clients, she only accepts clients seeking tele-therapy (Video, Phone, and Texting).

  • Please note in-person session appointments are very limited, whereas tele-session appointments can begin almost immediately after all paperwork is completed.
