Emily firmly believes that all individuals hold the keys to their most optimal, fulfilling life, and that healing often has a component of un-learning the patterns and messages that get in the way of utilizing our inherent strengths and talents. Taking a radically supportive approach to therapy, Emily views her work as guiding clients to learn to follow their inner compass and build a life that they enjoy. Regardless of the challenges that individuals face, Emily believes that all individuals have the power to show up for themselves in an authentic and unconditional way.
By training, Emily is a licensed mental health counselor with a Masters’ degree from Sage Graduate School. Although she specializes in working with adolescents and adults, she very much enjoys supporting families of all types and ages as they navigate through various challenges.
Emily’s most utilized therapeutic approaches include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She also enjoys pulling principles and skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems Therapy. Emily’s clients often inspire her to seek trainings in various other types of therapies to expand her skillset.
In her free time, Emily loves to read, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy nature. She has two dogs, Annie and Sawyer, and passionately believes in the healing potential of animals.
